Biography
The Rev. Louis E. Spyes, Jr.
Pastor Spyes has served as the Assistant Pastor and Coordinator of Christian 
Education & Youth Activities at the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield since 
September of 2003.  Prior to his current call he served as the pastor of the 
First Baptist Church of Titusville (PA) for ten years.  He also served as the 
pastor of the Somerdale Baptist Church in Somerdale (NJ).
Pastor Spyes is a native of the Philadelphia area, having grown up in 
Springfield (Delco), PA.  He received his B.S. degree from Drexel University, his M. 
Div. from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Th. M. from Westminster 
Theological Seminary.  He continues to be interested in history and historical 
biography.
Pastor Spyes has been interested in denominational affairs and has served in 
various official capacities.  He has an intense interest in the Baptist family 
around the world and has worked with the Baptist World Alliance.  He also has 
an intense interest in working with young people and has directed summer 
encampments.  In addition to working with Baptists he has an interest in working 
with other evangelical denominations and parachurch organizations, such as 
Young Life and The Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Pastor Spyes has a strong desire to see people in Haddonfield and the 
surrounding communities come to know Jesus Christ as savior and to see the church of 
Jesus Christ be a potent force for godliness in society.  He believes that 
friendship evangelism is the most effective type of evangelism and wishes to see 
each person accept his or her responsibility for building the kingdom.
